The Challenge
Systems were spread across nine servers, most of them past their service life, with no reliable backup. A failure of the patient system server meant admissions stopped.
Our Solution
We supplied two HPE ProLiant servers with a shared storage array and built a virtualised environment hosting every system, with live migration between the two hosts.
A daily backup was configured, and its restore was actually tested — not merely enabled.
The Results
Power consumption and server room footprint both fell, and the recovery time for any system after a failure became a known quantity instead of an unknown one.
